Davido has recently unfollowed his logistics
Davido has recently unfollowed his logistics manager, Isreal DMW, on Instagram after the latter issued a public apology on his behalf. The apology was directed towards the Muslim community, who expressed their displeasure with Davido through protests and the burning of a banner featuring the singer in Maiduguri, Borno state.
In response to the backlash, Isreal took to social media to apologize, stating that the controversial 'Jaye Lo' video was intended for entertainment purposes and was presented wrongly. He specifically apologized to his Muslim brothers and sisters, expressing regret for any offense caused and emphasizing their love for all.
Despite the widespread criticism, Davido has remained silent on the matter. However, it appears that he unfollowed Isreal on Instagram, indicating possible tension between the two.
In the midst of the controversy, former presidential aide Reno Omokri advised Davido not to heed the advice of atheist Professor Wole Soyinka, who suggested that Davido should not apologize to offended Muslims over the music video of one of his signees.
In defense of Davido, Wole Soyinka pointed out that former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El Rufai, had made derogatory comments against Christians in the past but was not asked to apologize. He also argued that Davido's music was not responsible for the tragic incident involving Deborah Yakubu, a second-year Christian college student who was lynched by a mob of Muslim students in Sokoto last year over alleged blasphemy.
In summary, Davido's logistics manager, Isreal DMW, apologized to the Muslim community for the 'Jaye Lo' video, and Davido subsequently unfollowed him on Instagram amid the controversy. The situation sparked debates and differing opinions, with some advising Davido not to apologize while others came to his defense.
